Joe Lambert visits Aotearoa
August 15th, 2007 by CherylGood to hear and talk with Joe Lambert last week in Hamilton at the fabulous Spark conference. He talked about some of the ways digital storytelling can be used for social change and shared some current initiatives like the Men as Partners project in South Africa. This digital storytelling project aims to get people talking about the HIV/AIDS issue in South Africa. Visit the Center for Digital Storytelling website for more information.
The lecture made us think a bit more about what we could do in Aotearoa. With the Kahui case upon us and news of Nia Glassie’s death a week or so ago we can see that digital stories may help us talk about and explore child abuse.
I’m keen to have more korero about women’s shape, self esteem and need to cut or staple ourselves.
More digital stories for social change, I reckon.
